Brooklyn-based rap trio Das Racist will storm through Beijing on Tuesday night at Yugong Yishan. They diatribe on race and rap culture with a style that feels like a mix between Captain Beefheart and earlier M.F. Doom. Their new mixtape “Sit Down, Man” opens with a rip on white people’s proclivity for skin cancer, name-checks the Foot Clan, and plays with familiar rap tropes like telling the prison system to “keep Weezy” but free Prodigy because he’s “more Picasso than Schnabel”.

Anyway, they recently got the New Yorker treatment so you can read about them there. Not to miss an opportunity for a party, pangbianr will be purveying weird music after the show at School (no. 53 wudaoying hutong) and assaulting your drunken peripheral vision with hostile imagery lovingly curated by Fei Liu.
