D.C Bros, The Big Picture and Yan Tiao @ Hot Cat, 12 January 2011

I’ve heard a lot of positive rumblings emanating from Hot Cat in 46 Fangjia Hutong lately (view map). I’ve only been to a few shows there but word is they’re opening it up to free practices, jams, and shows.

My friends in D.C Bros, Yan Tiao and The Big Picture will be throwing one such show/party next Wednesday. Aside from the bands, there will be some DJ’s and general musical goodwill. Last time I was at Hot Cat I remember them having cheap Baltika beer, which is another big plus.

The show is FREE but Dan of D.C Bros says “Everyone must bring mojo.” These guys are all prolific members of the Beijing music scene, playing in bands, recording, producing, organizing shows, etc. Show them some support and if you’re keen to get involved yourself, this is a great place to start.
