Sinotronics 2 @ The Other Place

Join us for the second official Sinotronics event on Saturday, August 10 at The Other Place:

Sinotronics is a collaboration between pangbianr and Metrowaves, one of China’s premiere electronic music platforms. It’s essentially a dialectic between our two spheres of activity: experimental/noise/improv & electronic. For a reference point, recall last year’s BEME festival and this year’s “Urban Electronics” event featuring Monolake, which were essentially put together by the same team.

Sinotronics 2 features live sets from Nara, Zlox, and iimmune, plus DJ sets from Damage Blanket, Edie Wang, and Compact Dicks + Jerry Chan spinning “Old Man Industrial.”

This event will also be the informal launch of “The Other Hour,” a happy hour concept adapted for The Other Place. The Other Hour will act as a launching pad for weekend nights in Gulou, featuring deep discounts on Belgian beer and select cocktails, unannounced/unlisted live music and DJs, and other miscellaneous cultural activities to prime the pump before you head on to Zajia, School, Dada, Temple, etc.

The Other Hour runs from 6-8pm, and the music starts at 7pm. No cover charge.
