pangbianr presents: A summertime salon showcasing visiting and emerging artists operating in a diversity of styles. A social courtyard performance. Movable parts, variable outputs. A free show at the newly revitalized hutong spot, The Other Place. It truly is the other place. Not the place you knew before.

Tonight’s show features Shenzhen-born, Australia-based shoegaze noiser Amers and his comrade ecaqs, supplementing with psychedelic violin wavelengths. This duo is in town for just a week, and this is their last performance. They’re joined by two Beijing-based artists with whom they’ll be playing earlier in the week: the young turk Head, a college lad who’s made a quick study of Beijing’s rapidly ossifying “experimental music scene” and in so doing become one of its most vital new sparks. And: Dee, the pied piper, the founder of Mii, a real live wire.

All wires will be plugged in to The Other Place’s ad hoc PA, which will be moved around and repeatedly reconfigured depending on weather and individual whims. The Other Shop will pop up once again to provide physical sustenance to the cassette ‘n’ vinyl ‘n’ bootleg CD-R starved. Damage Blanket Sound System will provide the interstitial ‘waves, the connective tissue.
