I’ve heard through a few grapevines lately about a collection of artist-bakers conspiring to bring artisanal snacks to a hutong near Guozijian. After getting the official word from Michael Yuen I went to Arrow Factory yesterday to check out Bake Shop, which will take place over the next few weekends in November.

Michael was making world class espresso as he is wont to do. I didn’t have the time to sample any of the food but everything looked good and seasonally appropriate: pumpkin cheesecake, miniature pumpkin pies, pumpkin bread, sourdough bread, cookies.

The Bake Shop will take place on Saturdays and Sundays through November 21, from 1:00-6:00 pm (view events calendar). If you’re a baker feel free to bring some of your goods for sale! I’ve heard rumors that resident pedicab cupcake hustler Crystal Ruth Bell will grace a future Bake Shop, and I’ve started rumors that Hegel’s Bagels will also make an appearance, so stop by.
