In early September another left-field-music legend rolls through Beijing. German woodwindist Peter Brötzmann cemented his place in the free jazz canon with 1968’s Machine Gun. In the proceeding decades he has been one of the most active and mobile musicians on the planet, collaborating with a staggering roster of international shredders including American underground lynchpins John Zorn and Sonny Sharrock, English guitar savant Derek Bailey and Japanese heavy psych/cave drone guru Keiji Haino.

Brötzmann has also shown an interest in Chinese free jazz in the past, having performed in Shanghai in 2007 and collaborated with local luminaries Li Tieqiao and Xu Fengxia in Europe.

He performs at Yugong Yishan on Friday, September 9th.
Tickets are 100元 (80元 pre-sale and for students).

Brötzmann is truly a WORLD CLASS MUSICIAN.
Let us show him that Beijing has a world class audience!
