光榮的夢 is a short film by Taiwan-based 趙小姐 (Doll Zhao), an experimental director who specializes in super 8 and conversion between digital materials. As a composer and singer, she is currently working with the electronic band Varo.

趙小姐是台灣實驗電影創作者,同時也製作音樂,目前是實驗電子樂團Varo的成員。作品使用超八、十六釐米底片與數位媒材進行整合,關注於個人情感在家庭歷史背景的紛擾之下的行走歷程。

光榮的夢 (Glorious Dream) will be featured in the first Pangbianr Music and Film Festival on July 25 at 2kolegas.

以羅蘭巴特戀人絮語的文本形式發想,搭配手沖黑白超八釐米的特殊刮片效果,黏膩富張力的戲劇性畫面與若有似無的隨意對話,給予觀者無限的想像,他們似乎已然沒有退路的在城市與人群中進行最後無力的鬥爭,卻遍尋不著答案。

羅蘭巴特"戀人絮語"採散發性的行文,擷取出戀人間剪不斷,理還亂的諸多感受。做為一個"解構主義文本","戀人絮語"是一本讓人無法定義的書,在這裡找 不到小說文本裡鋪成故事的情節,而以一種流動的、無定向性的言語表述在戀人的狀態中那不可確定的情緒所產生的胡言亂語。羅蘭巴特以"少年維特的煩惱"中的 主人翁維特所顯示的心態作為例證,細緻且入微的分析箇中狀態下的矛盾與潛在台詞。

以"光榮的夢"作為對戀人絮語的對話,使用超八釐米以及手沖的方式作為影片呈現的形式,並且加以情境的設計、對白。相較於數位影像的3ccd格式化擷 取的科技銳利;傳統底片鹵化銀受光而產生的化學變化,加上手沖所產生的不確定性以及不可預期的沖印效果,諸如藥水浸泡顯影時間擴張、溫度控制不足、底片接 觸藥水的層面隨機糾結,進而生成曝光過度、刮片、底片交疊、藥水殘留的結果。而加上作為底片中最低畫質(粗粒仔),行成一種rough、粒子游動、影像朦 朧的手工作物。

根據"戀人絮語"中戀人呢喃不斷的意識流動,拆解了故事本身,所得到的隻字片語,是切尋不著主題茫目而跳躍的思考模式,然而這樣的思緒卻從來無法停 止,從來沒有真正離開過,就像一個包袱似的丟棄不著,沉沉甸甸的像空氣環繞在各種場景一般。當處在這個狀態之下,令人不斷的陷入想欲割捨與撿拾的輪迴。他 們之間沒有故事,杵在一個尷尬的狀態中,相互不可分離的揹負,持與這個包袱穿越在大街小巷之中、在車水馬龍的分隔島中、在暗無天日對流不足的地下道中、試 圖尋找答案的書海之中,然而空氣是汙濁的,像這樣的事情多麼令人難以承受,他於是帶上了防毒面具,隔離了社會與大氣的味道,然而自我防衛也無法改變雙方的 困境,成了脫序的小丑,在城市的遊樂公園中(一個休息放鬆思考運動的場所),各自不知所云的遊走移動。影像所營造的氛圍是惟美的,影像的內容是沉澱而壓迫 的,失去顏色的黑白片。

他們已無法有組織結構的溝通事情,條例與分析的理性思考蕩然無存。任何無相關不重要的話語都有可能引發災難,也可能帶來安慰,他們只是不停的追問、回 答、追問、回答,內容也許已經不在重要,所要求的祇是一個回應,然而相互的應答漸漸變成了回聲(echo),黏膩不可分割你我,仿佛在跟自己糾纏一般,回 聲冷淡無情卻在來回之中擴張,形成了聽不清楚的噪音。

少年維特最終以了結生命結束了故事。在戀人絮語中"輕生"是不時出現的思想,藏匿在各個章節之中,以輕描淡寫的方式帶過卻無所不在:太宰治與女人心中 死了,人間失格的何其光榮。無論是在等待、思考、反覆之中,將各種情緒不濁痕跡的擴張行成的一股強大附著力,平淡卻餘韻尤存,這是一個將戀人間的虛無糾纏 形象化,造就一場狂睡不醒的夢境。

Inspired by Roland Barthes’s A Lover’s Discourse: Fragments (Fragments d’un discours amoureux), with hand-washed black and white Super 8 film specially scratched, the pictures are full of rich dramatic tension, also the ambience of random dialogue brings the viewers the unlimited imagination. The book A Lover’s Discourse: Fragments takes the language of sporadic, to extract the helpless and chaotic feelings of lovers. As a “deconstruction text”, this is a book can not be defined, where the story can not find in a fictional text to pave the plot. But in a flowing, non-directional nature of those lovers state of emotions are generated to determine some nonsense.Roland Barthes took the main character from The Sorrows of Young Werther (Die Leiden des jungen Werthers) as an example, through the mentality of Werther, he detailed and penetrating analysis the state of conflicts and the potential subtexts.

To apply Glorious Dream as the dialogue of A Lover’s Discourse: Fragments , to present it with hand washed super 8 format , and add on top of that with situation and dialogue design.Compared to the 3ccd digital video format the technology that capturing sharp, the traditional silver halide celluloid under the light generated by some chemical changes produces such uncertainty and unexpected printing results. withe film that has the lowest resolution, it forms a rough, grainy and hazy hand made craft.
