The month just started off with a celebration of Chinese Communism’s 90th anniversary and it’s only getting better from there. It’s an especially busy month musically for pangbianr, with shows featuring old and new visiting friends as well as some local veterans and brand new names.

This FRIDAY, JULY 8th at WHAT BAR is not to be missed. Promotion thus far has been non-existent, which was part intentional and part procrastination. Now that we’ve come this far why not keep it subtle? I’ll tell you that post-punk droners Mr. Ray are opening for Lowbow and White+, and that the ticket will be 20元, and that there will be a very special guest to wrap things up.

On Saturday, JULY 16th we’re returning to Hot Cat Club in Fangjia hutong with a lineup full of pangbianr favorites: Birdstriking, Chuiwan, Hot & Cold, White+. In the spirit of Hot Cat it’s FREE!

Finally we’ll be in Tongzhou on Saturday JULY 23rd, when Soviet Pop, Hot & Cold, UK sonic architect Felicita, and brand new electro-catharsis duo DEADLY CRADLE DEATH will be doing their best to make Raying Temple implode. The show is 30元… it’s expensive to cart synths and amps outside the 5th ring and the Nojiji crew needs to pay rent, so make that your excuse to take a little greater-Beijing summer vacation!

There’s also a vinyl DJ night at D-22 on Thursday July 21st with 1/2 Korean and thruoutin but there wasn’t enough room on the flyer… Hope to see you at one or more!
